I'm honoured to be offering this workshop again, as part of Lady Gaia's 2017 Embodied Connections program. If you didn't get the chance to come out the first time, I encourage you to come to this one, plus you get to experience the other amazing offerings in the program that you won't want to miss! Throughout each season, the Embodied Connections program will take you deeper into the arms of Grandmother Earth as you'll be lead by various beautiful and knowledgeable facilitators, through all ways of healing from the magical to physiological, and everything in between. Details about my offering is below.
In this workshop, you will learn the practice of using “simples” - the use of only one plant medicine at a time, in order to gain an understanding of the fundamental principles of herbal medicine. It is a practice that will in turn help you understand your own body’s functioning, and can help you release any fears around working with plant medicines.
With a focus on learning the basics of the Ayurvedic model of taste profiles and energetics, you will be able to clearly choose plants that are compatible to you and your elemental balance, and learn about ways to work with them, such as drinking infusions, tinctures, burning plants, and dreaming with them.
A special section of this workshop will be dedicated to learning about some specific plants and plant groups that are safe for the budding herbalist.
**An herb walk through the gardens and a plant walk through the greenhouse will be included.**
Where: Fresh City Farms - Downsview Park, Toronto (TTC accessible)
When: Sunday May 7, 11am-2pm
Exchange: This workshop can either be taken as part of the Embodied Connections program, or separately for $35+hst.
